Gladiators Star Sabre, aka Sheli McCoy, on Two Pieces of Workout Gear Says “CrossFit Changed My Body…and Life”
Sheli McCoy, also known as Saber from The gladiatorsis a fitness expert whose dedication to CrossFit and other sports has transformed not only his body but also his mind. In a recent Instagram post, McCoy shared how CrossFit has helped her break free from society’s expectations, allowing her to embrace her athleticism with pride. “CrossFit changed my body, yes… but more importantly, it changed my mindset and I’m grateful for my life,” she writes. Outside of CrossFit, McCoy enjoys surfing and golf, always striving to improve in these areas. She has become an advocate for being comfortable in your own skin and staying strong, both mentally and physically. Her approach to fitness is empowering and inspiring.
As McCoy said in his Instagram post, he likes to do CrossFit to stay in shape. Dignity Health reports that exercise has many benefits. “There’s a reason CrossFit is so popular: Its workouts do a great job of getting people in shape. Participants are drawn to the competitive spirit and camaraderie that their box WODs encourage. But CrossFit isn’t just for athletes: People of all fitness levels and walks of life can participate in the training, although some WODs may need to be modified for beginners. McCoy has learned to be comfortable with his body. He talked about this in the caption of his Instagram post. “I’m no longer tied to the idea that my body has to look a certain way to fit in. My body has to be thin, small and soft to be a woman… only desirable qualities and instead… Not caring too much about what others think and how I feel about myself Sports has taught me more about myself and how to be happy in my own skin than social norms, current trends or beauty industry trends. And so I will say again… I am proud that my body, my fitness, my muscles and my athleticism are not your copy of tea…
McCoy makes sure to work hard when it comes to staying fit. He also mentioned this in his Instagram post. “Learning how amazing my body can be when I put in the effort. Pushing the limits to improve my strength to overcome any challenges – not just sports challenges. Celebrating every day progress of skills and exercise more than body weight and clothing size – to be proud of my body muscles and Finally I was not ashamed and I looked like a man’ (thank you school children high 👍🏼)”
McCoy likes to surf to keep fit. He shared this photo on his Instagram with his board in Dubai. He captioned the post, “T Minus 4 weeks until I’m back with the Turf Sports Club in Dubai for The Fittest In The City comp and I can’t wait!!” Better Health means that surfing is really good. “Surfing offers many health benefits including: cardiovascular fitness – from paddling, shoulder and back strength – these muscles will be strengthened from waist, leg and core strength – once you stand on the board, strong legs and a strong back will keep you up.”
McCoy likes to play golf to stay fit. He even installed a golf net in his backyard, and revealed this in this Instagram post. “If I’m doing something… I’m DOING 🤣😂 this is my toxic trait. So, surprisingly I set up @golfbays Eazy Golf net and Hitting mat in my outdoor gym so they can learn quickly and keep up the practice!! for now if i can find the right swing and with the help of my golf coaches i will have practice to improve parts of my game 😃🙌🏻 ⛳️🏌️♂️”
