India is celebrating Ayurveda Day 2024 on October 29 along with 150 countries around the world.

New Delhi [India]October 23 (ANI): Ayush Ministry will celebrate 9th Ayurveda Day on October 29, with more than 150 countries around the world participating in the celebrations. This year, the theme of the event is “Ayurveda Innovations for Global Health.”
On this occasion, the Ministry of Ayush will organize an event at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in the national capital.
Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of Ayush, noted the importance of Ayurveda Day and said, “Ayurveda Day has now become a global movement. We are proud to know that around 150 countries are expected to join the Day celebrations of Ayurveda in 2024.”
He emphasized the mission of the ministry while highlighting the theme of Ayurveda Day 2024, and added, “The theme of Ayurveda Day celebrations this year gives new dimensions to Ayurveda’s contribution to global health. For the welfare of the people, the All India Institute of Ayurveda has established a month-long program across the country.
Highlighting the ministry’s vision, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ayush Department, said, “Through Ayurveda Day celebrations, Ayush aims to integrate Ayurveda with modern science to solve important life problems. including non-communicable diseases, mental health, antimicrobial resistance, and geriatric care.”

Talking about the latest initiatives of the Ministry, Kotecha added, “Ayurveda knowledge is made easily available to the public through digital platforms under the umbrella of Ayush Grid, including major initiatives like Ayurgyan Scheme, Ayush Research Portal and Namaste Portal.” Currently, Ayurveda is recognized in about 24 countries worldwide, while Ayurveda products are exported to more than 100 countries.”
This year’s festival will witness massive participation from startups and industry, placing Ayurveda at the heart of global health science. Leading experts of Ayurveda have also expressed their views and hopes for this important event. Ayush experts are very enthusiastic about this year’s festivities which are all about the creativity of Ayurveda.
Dr. Manoj Nesari, Advisor, Department of Ayush and Director, North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy (NEIAH) Shillong, said, “The theme ‘Ayurveda Innovation for Global Health’ has been specially chosen to highlight the great research work. made in Ayurveda to establish the scientific importance of Ayurveda in the development of health and treatment of various disease conditions.Special focus on innovation can attract and encourage our youth to immerse themselves in Ayurveda and initiate to begin with, I also see a lot of movement and enthusiasm among the people of the North East countries and the increasing acceptance of Ayurveda in all the North East states.
Dr. Mohan Singh, Director Ayush, Jammu & Kashmir, said, “Given the theme of this year’s celebrations, we are all excited to be a part of the Ayurveda Day 2024 activities. We are looking forward to an amazing gathering of experts, researchers and startup, all committed to creating a healthier, more sustainable world through the power of Ayurveda.”
As the world approaches Ayurveda Day on October 29, the Ministry of Ayush, its partner institutions, experts, and Ayurveda enthusiasts around the world are rejoicing in this unique celebration. Through innovation and collaboration, Ayurveda aims to provide sustainable solutions for global health and well-being.
It is important to note that the celebration of Ayurveda Day takes place every year on the auspicious occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti (Dhanteras). Since its inception in 2016, Ayurveda Day has gained worldwide significance. Throughout the month, various events and activities are being organized across the country, highlighting the importance of Ayurveda in health care and disease prevention. (ANI)
